Dan Levy desires you to know there has not been a motion picture produced about his everyday living.
The Schitt’s Creek star’s father, Eugene Levy, was a single of the stars of 1999’s American Pie, which went on to be a huge hit and start an complete film franchise. But the film’s recognition was not automatically appreciated by the young Levy.
“It was peculiar. I would like I was extra self-assured back then since I definitely would’ve owned it, but I was really insecure and I did not like the interest,” Dan says in the upcoming LGBTQ exclusive challenge of Leisure Weekly. “I was dressed to go to the premiere of American Pie and a pal of mine experienced observed a sneak preview of it and was like, ‘Do not see that with your moms and dads.’ And I backed out.”

His tale traces up with what his father instructed EW very last calendar year.
“My son, Daniel, was 15 when American Pie arrived out. I invited him to occur to the premiere and he was all psyched,” mentioned Eugene, who co-established Schitt’s Creek with Dan. “But then the working day right before, he mentioned, ‘I think I’ll wait around to go with my friends.’ Afterwards, he confessed a pal had told him that it would be really awkward. When I went to the premiere, I was so happy due to the fact I understood that is just what would have occurred.”
But escaping the premiere was not the stop of Dan’s Pie woes.
“Having that film come out though I was in significant university, I obtained a large amount of idiots expressing, ‘Ooh. Is that a story about your daily life?’ And in my brain I was, ‘I would kill to have a life which is attention-grabbing enough to transform into a movie. No, thank you. And no, I didn’t f— a pie.’”
